District Governor Chris Waugh Visits Eugene Metropolitan Rotary

District Governor Chris Waugh recently visited the dynamic Rotary Club of Eugene Metropolitan, which meets Tuesday evenings at the Davis Restaurant downtown.

A demographically diverse club with strong leadership, Metro is co-led this year by Co-Presidents Paul Shang and Laura Macagno Shang. The club is actively engaged in a wide range of local and international service projects.

A key highlight was learning how the club translates member feedback into action. After conducting a detailed member satisfaction survey, the club condensed a 10-page analysis into a single, clear infographic to focus efforts on leadership and meetings – a smart strategy for member engagement.

Metro is also innovating in fundraising with a personalized approach: hosted house parties. Members invite friends and family to social gatherings centered on a cause the host personally cares about, with donations directed through the club’s foundation to board-approved projects.

Governor Waugh applauds the Eugene Metropolitan club for its creativity, leadership, and commitment to meaningful, member-driven service.
