After two preseason prep football games, Marshfield’s offense is averaging over 40-points per game. Last Friday night, in the Pirates’ home opener with Siuslaw, Marshfield beat the Vikings from Florence, 45-22 at Pete Susick Stadium, Coos Bay. The Bucs (2-0) hit the road Friday, Sept. 12, for a cross-state game at Sisters in Central Oregon against the Baker Bulldogs (0-2). You can listen to the game for free on line live at www.kmhsonline.com. The school’s radio station, KMHS, is still having problems with its 105.1 FM transmitter, but listeners can go on line to hear the clear signal. One of the top prep athletes in the State, Rasean Jones of Baker, is not on the Bulldogs’ roster this season. He has already signed to play football for Boise State next year. The Bulldogs have lost their two preseason games to Cascade (36-6) and Scappoose (48-0). North Bend had an unexpected bye last Friday night when Gladstone/Riverdale cancelled their game at Vic Adams Field due to a lack of enough players. The Bulldogs (1-0) are back in business this Friday night at Estacada.
