OSAA FB Playoffs

It was all semi-final playoff games for the OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union Friday and Saturday. The State’s largest schools played on Friday night, and the end result was a 6A Open final between two Three Rivers League teams, Lake Oswego (11-0) and West Linn (10-1). The two will play on Friday, Nov. 29, 12:30 p.m., Hillsboro Stadium. The only blemish on Lions season record is a 21-17 loss to Lake Oswego in League play, Oct. 18th, at West Linn. The 6A classification final will feature North Medford (8-4) and South Medford (8-4) in a title game that will surely have the Rogue Valley rocking next Saturday, Nov. 30th, 5 p.m., at Spiegelberg Stadium, Medford. South won the earlier match-up, 33-30, Nov. 1, also at Spiegelberg. The Panthers were second to Sunset in the 6A Columbia Cup State Championship, 34-21 last season. The 5A title game is set for Hillsboro Stadium, Friday, Nov. 29, 4:30 p.m., between last year’s finalists, Wilsonville (10-2) and Mountain View of Bend (12-0). The Wildcats won that game, 29-23. The 4A State Championship will also be held at Spiegelberg Stadium, Saturday, 1 p.m., between last year’s two finalists, Henley (11-1) & Marist Catholic (11-1). The Hornets prevailed 42-28. The 3A championship is an Eastern Oregon affair with Burns (10-2) playing Vale (12-0), Saturday, 1 p.m., Summit HS (Bend.). Vale won the league game Oct. 4, at home, 18-12 over the Hilanders. The 2A matchup will be held at Cottage Grove, Saturday, 1 p.m. between St. Paul (12-0) and Oakland (12-0). And, the 1A (8) finals take place at Summit HS (Bend), Saturday, 4:30 p.m. between North Douglas, Drain (11-0) and Adrian (11-0).
