Description

A lawsuit filed by the Rural Organizing Project against the Oregon State Police alleges that federal immigration authorities accessed Oregon state databases 1.4 million times over the past year, in violation of the state’s sanctuary law, obtaining sensitive information such as driver’s license photos, addresses and Social Security numbers.

A nonprofit sued Oregon State Police on Tuesday, accusing the agency of illegally allowing federal immigration authorities to access residents’ personal data and helping fuel immigration arrests across the state.
