As a taxpayer and voter, I am troubled the Portland City Council spent time debating hors d’oeuvres instead of focusing on issues that affect the lives of most Portlanders, (“Animal rights activists say Portland should ban foie gras. Few restaurants serve it,” April 29). This is both elitist and a distraction.
