Description

Students, educators and staff at Access Academy in South Portland pose for a picture outside the school building. Portland Public Schools is considering eliminating transportation to Access next year. Parents say that will take a huge toll on the school community.

Portland Public Schools says it may cut school bus access to Access Academy, the alternative education program for talented and gifted students that opened in 2003 after years of parent advocacy and corrective action by the state.
