NEW POLICE OFFICER SWORN IN
On Tuesday October 1, 2024, Bryce Shelton was sworn-in as a Police Officer for the Coos Bay Police Department (CBPD). Numerous friends and family, as well as members of the CBPD and City staff were on hand for the ceremony. Shelton was born and raised in the Coos County area. Shelton has served as a Reserve Police Officer for the CBPD since February 2023. He is a 2017 graduate of North Bend High School and furthered his education at Southwestern Oregon Community College, graduating in 2019 with an Associates of Arts degree. Shelton previously worked for Coos Bay Les Schwab, holding that position since 2018. He enjoys sports, the outdoors, and spending time with family.
After Shelton was sworn-in by Chief Chris Chapanar, his fiancé Anna Hutchins pinned on his new badge.
