$2,000 SCHOLARSHIP OPPORTUNITY | Youth, who will be high school seniors next year, are encouraged to apply to serve on the Hillsboro Police Community Advisory Group during the 2025-26 school year. Every month, the members (both adults and one youth) meet with the Police Chief to exchange ideas and share perspectives on local policing and current events that may impact Hillsboro’s approach, as well as programming, outreach, and messaging. The successful applicant must live within the Hillsboro Police jurisdiction, and will be awarded a $2,000 scholarship for their education after high school. Apply by July 1 at https://bit.ly/3WJWYnI

THREE ARRESTED AFTER SHOOTING | On Monday, March 31st, shortly after 8:30 PM, HPD officers responded to a shooting at the ARCO on NE Cornell Road. When officers arrived at the location, they found bystanders beginning lifesaving efforts on an injured adult victim. Arriving officers continued these efforts. The victim was transported to a local hospital and is expected to survive. Officers quickly learned three juvenile suspects left the location on foot. After an extensive 2-hour search, the suspects were located and taken into custody. All three suspects were transported to the Donald E. Long Juvenile Detention Center on charges of Attempted Murder and Assault in the first degree. We want to thank the Washington County Sheriff's Office, Beaverton Police Department, and Tigard Police Department for their assistance during the search for the suspects. ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED | On Saturday, March 29th at 10:48 PM, officers responded to an armed robbery at Dotty’s on SE Tualatin Valley Highway. As officers arrived, the suspect left the location on foot. An employee pointed out the suspect and told officers the suspect had a gun. The suspect ran from the location but was quickly located by responding officers. As officers attempted to take the suspect into custody, he repeatedly stated he wanted officers to kill him, and refused to put his hands up. An officer successfully employed his taser and the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. A realistic-looking black toy pistol was located in one of the suspect’s pockets. David Jonathan Libemday (41) was arrested for Robbery in the first degree, Unlawful Use of a Weapon, and Menacing. Officers learned Libemday was also wanted by the U.S. Marshalls on nationwide arrest warrant related to a previous bank robbery. Libemday was booked and lodged at the Washington County Jail.

COMBATIVE HIT & RUN SUSPECT SAFELY SUBDUED | When it comes to safely managing people in high-risk situations, the WRAP Restraint System plays a crucial role in minimizing harm and ensuring the safety of the arrested person, police officers, and in this case, firefighters. Used during conditions when an arrested individual is combative or exhibiting self-harm, the WRAP Restraint System provides protection for everyone involved while reducing the chances of injury and de-escalating dangerous encounters. On March 25th at about 9pm, Hillsboro Police officers responded to a crash at the intersection of NE Evergreen Road and NW Glencoe Road. Witnesses told dispatch that a pickup truck had driven off the road and struck a parked car and shed. A passenger in the truck was injured and transported to the hospital. The driver of the truck had fled on foot. Hillsboro Fire & Rescue firefighters located the suspect as they were driving through the area and assisted police in apprehending him. The driver was combative with police and firefighters, so officers employed The WRAP Restraint System to subdue him. The driver was transported to a hospital for medical evaluation. His BAC was 0.32%; 4 times the legal limit. This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of always having a designated driver and the risks that impaired drivers pose to our community. The driver, identified as Anthony Corrigan Jr. (25), was later lodged at the Washington County Jail. His charges include: Driving under the influence of intoxicants Reckless driving Reckless endangering another person Assault in the fourth degree Criminal mischief in the second degree Failure to perform duties of driver to injured persons We thank our public safety partners at Hillsboro Fire & Rescue for their selfless service and assistance apprehending this impaired driver.Photos from Hillsboro Police Department's post

BARRICADED SUSPECT ARRESTED AFTER 7 HOUR STAND OFF | On March 22nd, 2025 a disgruntled ex-employee of a restaurant in the Tanasbourne area of Hillsboro threatened another employee using a sharp object. The suspect fled prior to police arrival. The following day, the suspect returned and created a disturbance at the location again. On March 24th, HPD Detectives located the suspect in a room at the Rodeway Inn near Highway 26 and Highway 217, in Washington County. The suspect fled into his room and barricaded the door upon police arrival. He refused to cooperate or surrender to arrest. Officers acquired a signed search warrant, and with the assistance of the Washington County Tactical Negotiations Team (TNT) and Crisis Negotiation Unit (CNU), Christopher McRae (47) was arrested, without injury, after a 7 hour stand-off. His charges include Unlawful Use of Weapon, Menacing, Disorderly Conduct, and Harassment. Thank you to Washington County Sheriff's Office TNT and CNU for assisting with safely taking the suspect into custody!
