Description

The Wilsonville Wildcats played against the Summit Storm in the 2022 5A football state championship at Hillsboro Stadium on November 25, 2022 in Hillsboro, Oregon. The Storm went on to win 35-28 to become the 5A football state champions.

The Summit Storm (2-0) travel to face the Wilsonville Wildcats (1-0) in another chapter in this cross-state rivalry. Summit is coming off a dominant 42-7 victory at Roseburg last week behind an offense directed by junior quarterback Andrew Guthrie, with senior WR/DB Connor Conneely providing a key target in the passing game. The Storm, state quarterfinalists last year, look to recapture their form against the program that has claimed the last two 5A state titles. Wilsonville, fresh off a 34-27 victory over Sandy, counters with Roman Kealoha at quarterback and fellow senior Keona Tam at wide receiver and linebacker. Since Summit’s victory over Wilsonville in the 2022 Class 5A championship game, the Wildcats have controlled the series, including a convincing 34-7 win last season. Opening kickoff is set for 7 p.m. PT on Friday, September 12 with a live TV broadcast on NFHS Network.
