The quartet consisting of Julia Nielsen, Moriah Oliveira, Mia Barnett and Silan Ayyildiz broke the school and collegiate record at the BU Terrier DMR Challenge (Feb. 21) in Boston. This marks the fourth USTFCCCA weekly honor for the UO women this season, and third in a row. Jan. 27 – Wilma Nielsen; Feb. 10 – Wilma Nielsen; Feb. 17 – Silan Ayyildiz; Feb. 24 – women's DMR | Julia Nielsen, Moriah Oliveira, Mia Barnett, Silan Ayyildiz. The Ducks combined for a time of 10:42.05 to take more than a full second off the previous record of 10:43.39 set by Washington a season ago. The Oregon women also lowered the school record from a 10:47.50, a time just over a year old. Oregon came into the often-chaotic 'DMR Weekend' with a season best of 10:48.45 from two weeks prior at the Razorback Invitational. Just a few hours before the women's record-breaking outing, the UO men put together their first DMR of the season and produced a time of 9:21.23 at the Arkansas Qualifier. With that performance, James Harding, Fuad Omer, Matthew Erickson and Elliott Cook became the third-fastest team in UO history. The postseason begins this week with the Big Ten Indoor Championships (Feb. 28-March 1) at the Fall Creek Pavilion in Indianapolis, Ind. At the end of qualifying, which includes marks from the conference meet, the top 16 declared athletes in each event and top 12 relays will advance to the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships (March 14-15) at the Virginia Beach Sports Center.
