Description
Today we celebrate the Gift of Literacy—and some truly unconventional hosts who made it unforgettable. 📚✨
From community leaders to local heroes, readers from across our region stepped up to share the joy of storytelling with 525 young students from coastal school districts.
Representatives from Rotary clubs, law enforcement, fire, EMS, and many others traded time from regular daily roles for storytime, proving that literacy connects us all.
Hosted on the campus of Southwestern Oregon Community College, this special day—powered by Rotary—goes beyond just reading. Each student receives a bag filled with goodies, including one of two books they’re reading, giving them something to take home, treasure, and read again.
You can see from the smiles, when a child discovers the joy of reading, it opens doors to a lifetime of opportunity. 💙
