Need a place to drop off a Bus Jam Toy or Food Donation? There’s a place in every community thanks to Ziply Fiber (open the photo to see all locations). The Ziply crews delivered our boxes and are picking up items that are stored and ready to put on the busses. There’s plenty of ways to join the Coos Bay - North Bend Rotary Club make the holidays special. Join the Mill Casino, and bring a toy to the Mill Club and receive slot play in return (details below). Your donation will pay out big, especially in the eyes of a child. You can also drop toys and non perishable foods at many locations throughout Coos and western Douglas Counties. A special shout out to Ziply Fiber for helping us sponsor the event, providing delivery and pick up to our early donation sites, and more; also to the Mill Casino. Registration is open.Registration for the Bus Jam Toy Distribution is now open at www.busjam.org. To register Click the tab and look for this graphic. Participation is by appointment only for parents in need of assistance. A parent or guardian of a household meeting income guidelines that have children from birth to 18 years may be eligible. The toy drive is December 7th. Distribution is the following weekend. Must be registered to participate.

The Coos Bay-North Bend Rotary invites businesses, individuals and organizations throughout the community to sponsor and decorate a tree or wreath to be displayed and auctioned off. This annual fundraising event will help you get in the holiday spirit and provide valuable services to our community. The Festival of Trees has has helped fund the Gift of Literacy, Airport Heights Park Project, the Coos Rotary Foundation providing grants to local non-profit and civic organizations, and the Rotary International Shelter Box Program. 🎄Decorating Night: Monday, December 2, 2024 🎄Auction Night: Wednesday, December 4, 2024 Finished trees and wreaths will be on display in the Salmon Room on Tuesday and Wednesday only before being auctioned off and delivered to their new homes on Thursday, December 5, just in time for Christmas. What an amazing finish to the Pacific Railcar Operators (PRO) Teddy Bear Toy Express. 44 Speeders along with 103 riders and operators made their way along the Port of Coos Bay / Coos Bay Rail Line to kick off the 22nd Annual Bus Jam Toy and Food Drive. The group has been organizing the toy drive at stops along the route for over 5 years. A host of volunteers including the Coos Bay Fire Department, City of North Bend, Umpqua Bank, Northwest Comm. Credit Union, NW Natural, North Bend High School, and PCR volunteers unloaded the toys that will be stored until they are loaded on the busses for the toy and food drive December 7th. A very special thanks to Steve Ryan of BlueSky Digital Studios for giving his time and catching these beautiful images of these vintage rail cars that have been saved from the scrap yards and are now doing good works, touching hearts in Coos and western Douglas Counties. PCR is a member of the 1400 member of the North America Rail Car Operator Association (NARCOA)that is dedicated to preservation and safe, legal operation of railroad equipment historically used for maintenance of way.
