On August 1st at about 2 p.m., Lane County Sheriff’s deputies responded to a residence in the 88100 block of 5th Street, Veneta, for a fire in a backyard. Arriving fire personnel advised the fire was clearly intentional, as gasoline had been poured inside the house and the fire started in a pile of debris outside.
