Following the death of country music icon Dolly Parton on Aug. 25 at age 80, many fans are revisiting one of the most enduring and unlikely celebrity marriages in entertainment: her nearly six-decade relationship with husband Carl Dean, a private businessman who spent most of his life far from the spotlight. Parton’s family announced her death Tuesday, describing a career that spanned music, film, business and philanthropy, Reuters reported.
