Subject Found Deceased in McKenzie River Identified as Missing Person

On September 25th at around 2:00 pm, The Lane County Sheriff’s Office along with Eugene Springifeild Fire personnel responded to a report of a person seen in the McKenzie River downstream from Armitage Park.

Responders located a person deceased and recovered them from the river. The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Gina Christina Piazza who was reported missing on September 20th.

The Lane County Sheriff’s Office wants to thank all who helped in the search effort. The circumstances surrounding Piazza’s death remain under investigation but there is no ongoing threat to the community.
