Southern Oregon Coast Pride invites the community to celebrate their 7th annual Pride in the Park: Belonging OUTloud event on Saturday , August 1, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Mingus Park in Coos Bay.   
  
This free, family-friendly event brings together people of all ages for an afternoon of entertainment, education, community connection, and celebration. Pride in the Park continues to grow each year, offering the largest number of booths to-date, and adding new activities that honor the diversity and resilience of the 2SLGBTQ+ community and its allies.   
  
The Main Stage will feature a variety of performances and presentations, including:  
  
-A high-energy Drag Lip Sync Battle presented by Coos in Drag  
-Indigenous storytelling by David and Earl Huitt  
-The presentation of this year's Salli B. Goode Advocacy Awards, recognizing individuals who have made meaningful contributions to advancing equality and inclusion in our communities.  
  
New this year, attendees can participate in a series of interactive workshops, including:  
  
-Drag Queen Storytime  
-Name Change Information Session  
-Postcard Writing to Kansas  
-Pride BINGO  
  
Throughout the park, guests can enjoy a variety of activities for all ages, including:  
  
-The annual Pride event shirt designed by a talented local youth artist  
-Arts and crafts  
-Free face painting  
-A free community meal  
-Raffle prizes and giveaways  
-Youth Vendor Section  
-Veteran’s Village  
  
Several new community-building activities are also making their debut this year:  
  
-Buddy Bench – A welcoming place to sit if you're looking to meet new friends.  
-Scavenger Hunt – Search the park for eight hidden crocheted stuffed animals and redeem them for a prize.  
-Pride Egg Hunt – Find colorful eggs hidden throughout the event containing fun prizes.  
-Prize Check-In Station – A centralized location to redeem scavenger hunt finds and collect prizes.
