Description
πΏ Sophomore students recently partnered with the Coquille Watershed Association, Curry Watersheds, the BLM, and the Coos Soil & Water Conservation District for the first year of an exciting multi-year restoration project at Cunningham Creek!
Students spent the day removing invasive blackberry plants, planting native vegetation, and collecting important scientific data, including turbidity, dissolved oxygen, and water temperature measurements. These hands-on activities provided valuable real-world experience while helping improve the health of our local watershed.
This is just the beginning! Our students plan to return each year to expand restoration efforts along the creek, improve public access, and help restore critical habitat for fish and other aquatic species.
A huge thank you to our community partners for providing this incredible learning opportunity and helping our students make a lasting impact on our local environment! π±π§π
