SNAPSHOTS & SERENITY AT THE LIBRARY There’s lots happening at the Coos Bay Public Library! Our November Photo Contest is underway, and we have so many great entries! Photos will be displayed throughout the month of November and we want your vote. Vote for your favorite photograph each time you come to the Library. Just come to the front desk for your ballot and select the photograph that you think best meets our theme for this year, “ Worth a Thousand Words.” We are still looking for photographs of your veterans for our Veterans Day photo display. If you or someone you know was/is a military veteran, bring us a photo of that person. We will scan the photo and give it back to you. Photos will be displayed in our front display case in the month of November. The Library is beginning a new program for the winter, Hygge and relaxation. It is for Teens and Adults who need a little quiet time away from the house. Hygge (pronounced hoo-gah) is a Danish and Norwegian cultural concept that describes a deep sense of coziness, comfort, contentment, and everyday well-being. Come into the Library on Saturday morning before we open and enjoy the quiet atmosphere to read a book, do a puzzle, or color a picture. Warm drinks will be provided to help you fully relax and enjoy the Library during its most quiet time. Feel free to bring a cozy blanket or pillow. The Library door will be open from 10:30-10:45 a.m. to let program participants enter the Library, after which no entry will be allowed. There will be no library services (computers, check out) available during this time. If you would like to enjoy a little quiet time to read, puzzle, color, or just think join us and find your hygge.
