Description
SIREN TEST - UPPER PONY CREEK DAM WARNING SYSTEM
On Saturday, June 27th, 2026 at 10:00 a.m., the Coos Bay-North Bend Water Board will conduct a test of the Upper Pony Creek Dam Warning System.
This test is intended to give the public an opportunity to hear the warning siren and become familiar with the sound that would be used in the event of a dam breach.
Sirens located at the North Bend High School and the Water Board Service Center will be activated once at 10:00 a.m. The test will consist of a three-minute siren cycle (15 seconds on, 10 seconds off), which represents the audible warning used for a dam failure.
Important Safety Reminder:
If you live within the dam breach evacuation zone and hear the siren at any time other than a scheduled test, move to higher ground immediately. If you are unsure whether your location is within the dam failure inundation zone, please contact the Coos Bay-North Bend Water Board.
