S. 9th Street Road Closure  
The City of Coos Bay has contracted with Johnson Rock Products to make road repairs to S. 9th Street between Anderson Avenue & Central Avenue. Work has begun and will be completed by Monday April 21, 2025. For safety purposes the north section of S. 9th Street will be closed tonight and will be reopened to thru traffic by the end of day tomorrow April 17, 2025. The city understands this road closure is inconvenient. Residents can access their homes off Anderson Avenue. Please avoid the road closure and use caution when traveling near the work zone. Should you have any questions or want more information, please contact Coos Bay Public Works at (541) 269-8918

Lane County Sheriff’s deputies assigned to patrol enter the Field Training and Evaluation Process (FTEP). They also attend Basic Police Academy at the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training.   
  
Deputy Hearn reassigned to Patrol after graduating from the Corrections Academy and working in the Lane County Jail for several years. She brings a wealth of experience from interacting with adults in custody at the jail. Deputy Hearn enjoys getting out into the community and serving in the unique way patrol allows, especially helping people on their worst days.
