Description

Scientists examine a large-volume spring in young volcanic rocks of the Mckenzie River watershed on the west side of the tallest peaks of the Cascade Range as part of a study to understand how water moves through the volcanic landscape. During the study, they discovered a massive aquifer just beneath volcanic rocks at the crest of the central Oregon Cascades near Santiam Pass.
