The Oregon State Marine Board invites recreational boaters and others interested in the agency’s work to gather and engage with staff at an Open House on October 23, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. The agency is hosting the Open House to better understand the needs of Hood River and surrounding area boaters. The Open House will be held at Columbia Gorge Community College, Room 1313, 1730 College Way, in Hood River. The Open House is intended to build relationships with local recreational boaters and hear perspectives on how the agency can improve operations to meet future needs. Staff will be available to answer questions about boating safety, agency policies, plans, regulatory considerations, grants, boating access, revenues and expenditures, safety education, titling and registration, outfitter guides, and the agency’s environmental programs. Marine Board Quarterly Meeting in Hood River October 23
The Oregon State Marine Board will hold its next meeting on October 23, at the Hood River Library, Jeanne Marie Gaulke Community Meeting Room, located at 502 State Street in Hood River. The meeting will begin at 8:30 am and local boaters are invited to attend. The agenda includes: Director’s Agency Report; Boating Facility Cycle Three Grants, Action: Board Approval; Waterway Access Program Update, Informational; Upper Rogue River Rulemaking, Action: Board Direction to Staff; Executive Session ORS 192.660(2)(h). Written public comments for this meeting will be accepted until 5 pm on October 16, 2023. Representatives of the news media and designated staff shall be allowed to attend the executive session. All other members of the audience will not be allowed in the room. Representatives of the news media are specifically directed not to report on or otherwise disclose any of the deliberations or anything said about these subjects during the executive session, except to state the general subject of the session as previously announced.
