At nightfall, Portland turns into a beautiful city. It is such a pleasure to drive at night by the Willamette River at this time of year. Nothing beats the red nose that converts the white stag sign to a reindeer above the Burnside Bridge. Second best in my book: the glowing martini glass above Portland’s Southwest Hills. Next, the Willamette Light Brigade’s colorful cascade of bright lights on our bridges. And the Oregon Convention Center’s Christmas colors on their stalagmite glass structures.
