Description

Jessican Carmona, a program manager for renewable energy at Bonneville Environmental Foundation stands in front of the PDX Community Solar Project the Portland nonprofit is developing. Another community solar project planned by the foundation with money from the Portland clean energy fund is at risk because federal funding and tax incentives may not materialize.

Several major climate projects planned by Portland’s clean energy fund, including a significant remake of 82nd Avenue, are at risk because it’s unclear whether millions of dollars from the federal government will materialize as expected.

K9 Ozzy located a man who attempted to flee deputies on Monday, March 17, 2024. Deputies were in the 3000-block of Happy Valley Road to locate 54-year-old Eric Boyd Ponder. Ponder initially fled out the back door of an outbuilding and attempted to hide in tall grass on an adjacent property. K9 Ozzy was deployed and searched the area. Ozzy track Ponder's scent and took deputies to where Ponder was hiding. Upon learning of K9 Ozzy's presence, Ponder surrendered to deputies without further incident. Ponder was lodged in the Douglas County Jail on numerous felony warrants. He also has pending burglary and aggravated theft charges in Douglas County and several other jurisdictions.
