K9 Ozzy located a man who attempted to flee deputies on Monday, March 17, 2024.

Deputies were in the 3000-block of Happy Valley Road to locate 54-year-old Eric Boyd Ponder. Ponder initially fled out the back door of an outbuilding and attempted to hide in tall grass on an adjacent property.

K9 Ozzy was deployed and searched the area. Ozzy track Ponder's scent and took deputies to where Ponder was hiding. Upon learning of K9 Ozzy's presence, Ponder surrendered to deputies without further incident.

Ponder was lodged in the Douglas County Jail on numerous felony warrants. He also has pending burglary and aggravated theft charges in Douglas County and several other jurisdictions.
