A 5.9-magnitude earthquake was recorded west of Coos County, Thursday, Sept. 25. According to the U.S. Geological Survey, the quake was located on the outer fault line of two that run parallel with the Oregon Coast, west of Bandon and at a depth of six-miles. An aftershock was measured at 3.0-magnitude also west of Bandon. There was also a 2.7-magnitude quake lower on the outer fault line, west of Ferndale, CA, near Cape Mendocino in Northern California.
