Description

Renee Anderson, shown here on July 11, 2025, is a fierce champion of math students, particularly Black children, in Portland Public Schools. Last month, Anderson was honored by the Oregon Community Foundation for her four decades of work in Oregon education, alongside 12 other Black educators.

Renee Anderson came home one day in fourth grade and announced that she planned to be a math educator someday.
