Description
A Michigan-based food distributor plans to lay off 96 employees in Northeast Portland over the next two months as it shuts down local operations.
Sherwood Food Distributors, known locally as Western Boxed Meat, notified state workforce officials of the pending closure Tuesday. It said it will pay workers through April 21, when its warehouse closes permanently.
