Suitable for all, but intended for new or aspiring winter recreationists, ‘Know Before You Go’ presentations provide information on backcountry safety, avalanche resources, and ’next steps’ for your avalanche education.   
  
This event is hosted by the UO Outdoor Program and co-sponsored by the Central Oregon Avalanche Center and Eugene Mountain Rescue, which officially operates as a part of the Lane County Sheriff's Search & Rescue.   
  
The main speaker is David Hill, an OSU professor and American Avalanche Association Affiliate Member. There will be a free raffle for some sweet gear, and plenty of time for Q&A.   
  
We look forward to seeing you there!
