Oregon State’s softball team won two-out-of-three WCC games at San Diego. OSU fell on Friday, 5-1, but came back in the nightcap and won 4-0. On Saturday, the Beavers clinched the series with a 4-1 win. Oregon State (2-3, 19-18) hosts Saint Mary’s (CA) on Saturday, April 26.

EUGENE, Ore. – Oregon State wrapped up the weekend at the Oregon Team Meet with a mix of personal bests and top-ten finishes across the track and field. Ainsley Herron ran a personal best in the 1,500 meters to start the day for the Beavs. The freshman clocked a 4:19.11 to place seventh, with Ruby Broadbent finishing 11th in 4:27.91. Jillian Brown led OSU in the 800 meters with a time of 2:07.69 for seventh place. Maya Baechler followed in ninth, running a personal best of 2:08.92. In the sprints, Jada Hurley took seventh in the 100 meters at 11.91, and Riley Patera ran 12.37 for 11th. Addison Swartzendruber ran 56.96 in the 400 meters. On the field, Katie Gelston placed fourth in the discus with a 49.13m/161-2 throw. Delaney Bahn finished fifth in the long jump at 5.83m/19-1.5, and Dede Norman was 11th. Norman also cleared 1.70m/5-7 in the high jump for fourth, with Grace Proudfoot placing eighth at 1.65m/5-5. Erin Cosgrove wrapped up the day with a 17:11.60 in the 5,000 meters, good for ninth place. DAY ONE - Isabelle Esler led the way for Oregon State on Friday at the Oregon Open, breaking her own school record in the javelin with a 53.35m/175-0 throw. Sara Sanders moved up to No. 6 all-time at OSU with a 49.07m/161-0 mark to place third, and Maryann Ackerman finished fifth. In the field, Mia Fowler cleared 3.88m/12-8.75 in the pole vault to take seventh and move into fourth all-time at OSU, while Grace Proudfoot won the high jump at 1.70m/5-7. Katie Gelston also placed third in the discus at 49.30m/161-9. The Beavers recorded a strong set of personal bests on the track, highlighted by Sydney Partyka (4:26.33) and Delaney Griffin (4:27.57) in the 1,500 meters. Eight Beavs ran lifetime bests in the event, including Eliza Eckman and Payton Smith. Ruby Lorenz ran a personal-best 59.40 to place second in the 400 meters, and Ava McKee clocked 2:16.81 in the 800. In the 200 meters, Jada Hurley ran 24.62 and Riley Patera posted a personal best of 24.92.
