Description

Oregon Attorney General Dan Rayfield filed a lawsuit Thursday challenging the Trump administration’s new Medicaid work requirements alongside three other states. The states argue that the federal government can't threaten their existing Medicaid funding to force them to enforce the rules.

Oregon and three other states are asking a federal judge to shield them from losing billions in Medicaid funding if they refuse to enforce new work requirements that could leave thousands of low-income residents without health insurance.
