A $1.5 billion federal transportation grant to help Oregon and Washington replace the Interstate 5 bridge over the Columbia River remains frozen, after President Donald Trump halted payment upon taking office.

In theory, Oregon officials have some 40 billion reasons to be anxious about federal funding from the Trump administration.
