Description

The Rotary Club of Yreka met downtown at the Wine Bar & Bistro on Wednesday at noon. The club has a nice mix of ages, and their service projects include installing shade sails in Greenhorn Park, placing new trash cans up on Miner Street, and serving Thanksgiving meals to seniors. They were also excited to report that their Interact Club is gearing up for the school year.
President Rachel Jereb (on the right) is really an inspiration, and obviously believes in shining light on the club members. She asked me to present EIGHT Paul Harris awards, induct a brand new member, and give two other members special recognition awards. Celebrating our members builds stronger relationships and makes Rotary fun.
I don’t give a “District Governor speech.” Instead, I like to talk with club members about what matters most to them. In Yreka, for example, the conversation centered on membership engagement and marketing & promotion. What will you want to talk about when I visit your club? I can’t wait!
