Description

At lunchtime, I went to the beautiful Umpqua Business Center, where Roseburg holds its club meetings. President Fred Sabins and I worked on their goals for 10 minutes before the meeting started.
Then, I met all of the members. Meanwhile, lunch magically appeared – thanks to everyone’s involvement.
The Club’s Superstar Award went to Past President (and Youth Exchange Rock Star) Sue Van Volkenburg. She’s always asking people to join the club.
Other notable club members included Amy Taylor for her work on Holiday Village, Tabitha Layman for the Festival of Lights, Tamy Turner for Club Secretary, and Carol Sabins (wife of Fred) for behind-the-scenes support.
After the meeting started, they invited Tino, their exchange student from Brazil, to give us an update. He reported that he is doing very well, active in sports and enjoying his time here. He also explained his newly blond hair.
In the foreground of this image is President-Elect Nis Jessen. Nis, AG Scott Hendy, and I reconnected at PELS in Seattle that evening for a weekend packed with inspiration and preparation. Word has it that Nis said in all the management meetings he attended, this was the BEST.
