Description

Reedsport Club meets at noon on Thursdays, but President Erin Dunn invited me to a Board/Social the evening before. We talked a lot about the challenges in the small community, which create challenges and opportunities for Rotary to make an impact. One need is leadership development, and the club has decided to organize and hold Leadership Reedsport to meet that need.
They meet at Big Fish Restaurant, right on the water. It was hard to focus on the meeting with that beautiful view out there! President Erin asked me to help present 5 awards to some of their outstanding members. They have a project that I couldn’t wait to share with you: It’s a human slot machine! What could your club do with an idea like that?
We explored the topic of membership retention, specifically, “If someone joined our club six months from now and then quietly left, what do you think they’d say they hoped Rotary would give them—but didn’t?” What would you say?
