December 2nd at noon: Philomath Club should get a Most Improved Award! Two years ago, they were struggling, but with District support (thanks, DGE Bruce Allen), they’ve reinvigorated themselves. President Fred Shaub is a passionate leader. They have identified their President-Elect (Robert Hulshof-Schmidt), and half of their members are less than 3 years in the club.

Philomath Club even has Rotary fans! One of them is Erin Haynes of the Corvallis Club, a regular visitor. In fact, Philomath Club gave him an award for his support and encouragement. He likes to share how Rotarians inspire him. You inspire me, too!

I stayed for the Board meeting afterward. They have a dream team of powerful local community pillars, and have accomplished a lot in just over 30 minutes. Watch out – they are ordering 5 new peace poles!
