Description

Tuesday, the 26th, was meeting day for the Jefferson County (Madras) Club. President Teresa Martin and Foundation Chair Meg Cummings arrived early. Their meeting spot, the Wild Winds Station, has a special Rotary menu just for them.
The club has 30ish members, and can boast about 50% of their members are 50 years old and under! The camaraderie in this group was astounding – everyone knew everyone! Conversation included the Flat Fire, their kiddos, and birthdays. Getting younger members is something we can all aspire! Assistant Governor Keever Henry brought them a new podium banner and two cases of customized District 5110 WINE!
President Teresa had 5 awards to pass out: Wendi Monroe – a three-year member who has already served as President. Bart Platt, who invigorated the club Facebook page. Check it out and follow it: https://www.facebook.com/jeffcorotary And there were more awards: Alexa Gassner who helps write grants, Treasurer Tammy Gregory, and Secretary Tena Jackson. We spent the meeting brainstorming and discussing exciting new ideas for a fundraiser/event that the club could hold. They could replicate the Redmond Club’s Daddy-Daughter Dance, or do something water-related at the Kaneeta pools.
