Description

I got up early on the frosty morning of Thursday, April 16th to drive to Jacksonville and arrive before their 7 am meeting. A hot breakfast was awaiting at the Bella Union Restaurant. President Roger Thom welcomed me and reviewed his plan for the morning’s program.
I was thrilled to meet PDG Carl Nelson, who served 5110 as Governor in 2000-2001.
President Rodger had several awards for me to present. Above you see Jill Tompkins receiving one for her ongoing fundraising expertise. “Nobody says No to Jill!”
And on the quieter side, we have Jerry Hayes getting an award. He’s one of those people who sets the meeting up before everyone gets there.
We talked about why Rotary is so different than the thousands of other non-profits out there – what makes us so special is the way we leverage our resources. We had a wonderful conversation about their club.
Finally, and not quietly, they send their greetings to District 5110!
