Description

The Grants Pass Club meets on Wednesdays from 12:15 – 1:15, so on October 15th, I visited them. I was greeted by so many friendly Rotarians, including Assistant Governor Tim Quinlan, Secretary Ronald Eichorn, IPDG Nelson Maler, and President Ben Pearson. When Ben took the lectern, I was mesmerized by the LED Rotary sign mounted on the front. The sign featured lights that illuminated in sequence to draw attention to the words Rotary International. I understand a member owns a signage store…you know how that goes. Rotarians and their connections!
President Ben wanted me to help recognize Ron Eichorn. Not only is he the Club Secretary, but he is also one of those Rotarians who provides a steady lift for the club. Not one to claim the spotlight, he took the microphone and shared that “it’s easy when you’re doing something you love.”
The club was too spread out to get everyone in the same selfie! In this shot, you see Marty Bauer (in the light blue shirt), who opened the meeting with a recital of a cowboy poem. Cynthia Harelson at the bottom left ran the tech table.
The members were interested in hearing “what goes on behind the scenes at the District level,” so I shared some intel with them.
