Description

The Springs Satellite meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of each month at Greer Gardens, a retirement community in Eugene. District 5110’s first satellite, this club started just before COVID and increased its membership throughout it! With Peggy Malcom at the piano, they sing!
Long-time Southtowne Rotarians (from left) Jay & Mary O-Leary and Sally & Dick Briggs play a big role in this club. They have an annual auction that raises upwards of $12,000 for scholarships – some of which go to the Springs employees for further education. And they get to know their recipients – inviting them to meetings, socials, and functions.
They have lots of projects that keep them busy – like collecting and recycling bottles and cans for Tiny Village, coordinating an Angel Tree at the holidays to purchase gifts for families in need, and “Guess the Pumpkin Weight” in the fall.
