Description

The Eugene Rotary Club was the first Rotary club in Lane County. They meet downtown at the Graduate Hotel on Tuesdays at noon. They are a large club, with 109 members.
Over a delicious lunch, I heard about the club’s Rotary Connects program, a casual gathering that brings together new and prospective members to build relationships and learn more about the club and Rotary International. It blends the feel of a relaxed networking event with the warmth and conversation of a Rotary fireside. What a great idea!
This is a generous club, and has given $547,815 to the Annual Fund since 2007! During the meeting, I helped give 15 new Paul Harris awards!
They have a wide range of service projects. One example, shared by Jesse Quinn and Kristina Gribskov, is a partnership with Set Aside Clinics to help local residents complete paperwork to remove eligible criminal history – so they can work, secure housing, and move forward.
