On Saturday evening, October 19th, Lane County Sheriff's Search & Rescue responded with Upper McKenzie Fire to the area of Horse Creek Trail, south of Highway 242, to assist an injured hiker. The patient was safely transported back to their vehicle, and an accompanying hiker drove them to an area hospital. Lane County is a beautiful place to recreate but use caution. As we head into fall, daylight ends sooner, and temperatures drop faster. Always tell someone where you plan to go, and always be prepared to be out overnight wherever you go!
