Description
On August 26th at 2:30 AM, Hillsboro Police officers responded to assist the Washington County Sheriff's Office during a theft in progress. K9 Rocket (pictured left) and his handler located the suspect who fled on foot, ultimately hiding in a shed to avoid police detection. A Hillsboro officer who is also a member of the Sheriff's Office Remotely Operated Vehicle Team (ROVT), deployed a drone (pictured right) to safely locate and apprehend the suspect with no injuries to anyone involved. The suspect was taken into custody and 2 previously stolen firearms were located. This is only one of many examples which show the effectiveness of K9s and ROVT working in tandem!
