Description
On April 26, Hillsboro Police officers responded to a reported overnight burglary at Coyote’s Bar & Grill after staff arrived to find the business had been broken into and the safe was missing.
Using surveillance footage from multiple cameras, officers quickly identified a suspect who was seen entering the restaurant overnight and leaving on foot with the safe. A prompt investigation led officers to a nearby apartment, where the suspect and the unopened safe were located.
Jerry James Harmon, 40, was arrested and lodged at the Washington County Jail on charges of Burglary in the First Degree, Aggravated Theft in the First Degree, and Possession of Burglary Tools.
During the investigation, officers also contacted Destiny Lynn Johnson, who had an outstanding warrant and was taken into custody.
We know crimes like this affect local businesses, employees, and the community they serve. We appreciate the partnership of local businesses and community members who help us keep Hillsboro safe.
