On April 2 at 10:45 am, observant work by our Community Impact Team led to the safe arrest of a wanted individual here in Hillsboro.
Officers recognized a vehicle and, through proactive investigation, learned the driver was wanted by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office in connection with a Burglary I case. Deputies had been actively searching for the suspect at another location.
Our officers safely took Gerardo Guzman-Altamirano into custody without incident. During the arrest, they recovered an unloaded Smith and Wesson .38 Special revolver, 12 rounds of ammunition, and methamphetamine.
This case reflects the importance of awareness, coordination, and steady police work. It also highlights our commitment to keeping our community safe while acting with dignity, respect, and professionalism in every contact.
Guzman-Altamirano faces charges including Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, and Possession of a Controlled Substance. Additional charges are being pursued by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
