Sirpa and John Peacock, co-owners of Ocelli Cellars in Newberg, Oregon.Ocelli Cellars makes red, white and rosé versions of grenache.Grenache grapes at Upland Vineyard in the Yakima Valley.Ocelli wines are made at August Cellars in Newberg, Oregon.The 2022 Ocelli Cellars Columbia Valley Grenache is aJohn Peacock, flanked by free-range residents, prepares for a Saturday tasting at Out of Necessity Wines.One way to taste Ocelli wines during the summer is to visit them at Out of Necessity Wines on Northeast Ribbon Ridge Road from 11 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturdays.

I love grenache’s spicy ways. It can be simultaneously elegant and hedonistic, packed with aromas and flavors of strawberries, raspberries, cherries, Mediterranean herbs, white pepper and anise. Grenache is Walton Goggins in a silk suit, sans shirt.
