Newberg's Gavin Rangel gets up after winning the Class 6A 144-pound state championship match at the OSAA wrestling state tournament on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2026 at Veterans Memorial Coliseum.

As a sophomore, Gavin Rangel looked poised to be a three-time state champion.
