Description

Millions of tiny invasive ants are spreading across parts of the South, and they can create a much bigger problem than an unwanted trail through the kitchen. Tawny crazy ants can form huge populations, invade homes and damage electrical equipment, according to the U.S. Department of Agriculture. The reddish-brown insects are native to South America and have become established mainly in Texas and Florida, along with coastal areas of Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama and Georgia.
