Marshfield’s opening draw at the OSAA/OnPoint Community Credit Union Thursday, March 13th, 8:15 p.m., will be the Phoenix Pirates (17-7), winner of the Skyline Conference this year. Marshfield (21-3) will go in ranked No. 2 behind Cascade (21-3). Phoenix is ranked No. 11 in the OSAA’s final rankings. Phoenix has won 13 of their last 15 games, and beat Newport (64-60) in the First Round of the playoffs to advance to the State Tournament, March 13-15 at Forest Grove HS. The two teams met early in the preseason (Dec. 14) with Marshfield winning 60-32 at Phoenix. The quarter-final game will be broadcast live on the OSAA Radio Network (Matt Jarvis), KMHS (Garrett King & Chris Green) & televised on NFHS (Eric Goss).
