Description

OR State Marine Board release - The Oregon State Marine Board just launched a mobile-enabled, more streamlined user interface for its online Boat Oregon Store. The new interface is icon-driven and categorized based on transaction type, making the experience more efficient for boaters, outfitter guides, and rental businesses.  This is the first major system upgrade since the eCommerce web application was implemented in 2014.  Customer service is a core value of the Marine Board, and now, with the system optimized for mobile devices, customers can complete any business transaction on their own timeline and on any device, with improved accessibility.  Through the Boat Oregon Store, customers can:  Apply for a title and motorboat registration; Apply for a boating safety education card or replacement; Renew motorboat registration; Purchase a Waterway Access Permit; Register to be a professional Outfitter Guide or Charter, or renew - Register as a boat rental business (bulk permits and registration discounts).  Customers can also update information such as a change in address or other contact information in their account.  “Boaters who’ve done business with the Marine Board, as far back as 1993, have a digital record of their transactions or credentials in the system,” said Melinda Harrison, Watercraft Registration Team Lead, with over 30 years of experience with the agency. “If a boater stopped for a bit and decides to get back into recreational boating, the agency likely has the boat data in the system. The customer just needs to finish setting up their login credentials.”  The agency has a comprehensive Store Help page with frequently asked questions and answers to help guide customers who are new to using an eCommerce system. “We encourage boaters to give the store a try. It’s easy, fast, and secure,” Harrison said. “For example, motorboat registration decals (stickers) are processed within days and arrive in the mail within 7-10 days.”  Visit Boat.Oregon.gov for information about the Marine Board, Oregon’s recreational boating agency.
